POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Finance and Accounting Business Analyst to join our team. This role acts as a critical liaison between the Finance/Accounting, Construction Operations, and IT departments, with a primary focus on supporting and optimizing financial systems, tools, and processes specific to the construction industry.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a strong background in construction finance and accounting principles, and is passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex business challenges. A deep understanding of construction ERP systems (especially COINS), IT processes, and process improvement methodologies is essential. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with business objectives and drive efficiency across the organization.
What you’ll do:
1. Business Technology Support
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Tier 1 and Tier 2 ERP support teams.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues escalated from support teams by replicating problems in non-production environments and collaborating with end users.
• Keep users informed on issue status and document solutions in a knowledge base for future reference.
• Escalate issues to the ERP vendor. Follow through with the vendor on resolution, test vendor patches/fixes to ensure they address the issue without creating new problems and manage deployment to production environments.
• Collaborate with the training and support teams to ensure training materials and support documentation are accurate, updated, and effective.
1. Technology and Process Improvement
• Partner with finance and accounting teams and seek to understand their business needs. Where appropriate, document their workflows and perform value stream mapping.
• Identify, recommend, and validate process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and system effectiveness.
• Lead small projects to implement and deploy new software functionality or features that align with business goals.
• Participate in larger cross-functional initiatives as a Subject Matter Expert, ensuring financial and operational requirements are accurately represented and addressed.
What you’ll need to be successful:
+ Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
+ Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or IT service management (e.g., ITIL).
What you bring to the table:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant work experience in construction accounting may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
+ Proven experience in construction finance/accounting, with expertise in construction ERP systems (preferably COINS).
+ Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and IT system and process.
+ Experience with business process analysis, system implementation, and change management.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Experience providing end-user IT support and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
+ Customer-centric approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
+ Ability to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
