Software Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Help build the next generation of systems behind Meta’s products and services, build high-volume scalable servers and proxies using modern transport protocols to support content and create web and or mobile applications that reach over two billion people.

2. Harness passion for technology and undergraduate-level knowledge, and help build highlyscalable performant solutions.

3. Develop undergraduate-level knowledge of algorithms and core computer science concepts and ability to apply knowledge to real world systems with support and guidance from direct supervisor.

4. With solutions provided by a supervisor utilize ability to apply them to production problems and contribute to architectural decisions.

5. Employ general knowledge across the following areas: programming languages, networking, transport protocols, operating systems, databases, and data processing.

6. Requires a Bachelor’s (or foreign equivalent ) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.

7. Requires completion of one undergraduate-level course, one research project, or one internship involving the following skills:

10. 3. Relational databases and SQL

11. 4. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

12. 5. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation and simple commands

13. 6. Building highly-scalable performant solutions

14. 7. Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction

15. 8. Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability.

16. 9. Filesystems, server architectures, and distributed systems

17. 10. Debugging or benchmarking

18. 11. Building tools, linting and formatting of the codebase

19. 12. Building intuitive systems in at least one of the following: Java, PHP, C++, or JavaScript technologies such as ReactJS or AngularJS

21. 14. Modelling data flows between systems to enable transactional workflows and upstream or downstream integrations.

$222,772/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
