We are seeking to recruit a Senior Manager Materials, Logistics and Transportation to join our team!
This position will lead Transportation and Logistics for the Mission Systems and Avionics business units. The position is responsible for managing functional areas or teams, including inbound logistics, outbound logistics, transportation, and data analytics to support SIOP. This leadership position also includes coordinating standards and processes across multiple sites and involving multiple functions.
Senior Manager Materials, Logistics and Transportation requires coordination and close collaboration with site leadership, Central Logistics, Global Trade, Program Management, Procurement, Sourcing and Accounts payable to accomplish cross functional goals. The successful candidate will possess leadership and organizational skills necessary to lead a team through complex problems, acting as the subject matter expert (SME) for all major initiatives and high value shipments. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the onboarding and management of carriers to include budgets and performance. This position will be expected to work in collaboration with the Collins and RTX level teams to achieve cost saving goals through implementation of key initiatives across the business unit.
What You Will Do
+ Set strategic direction, plan and execute on short to medium term strategies and projects (up to 2 years) for all Logistics and Transportation
+ Responsible for evaluating, coaching, providing guidance and identifying learning opportunities to all Logistics and Transportation staff members
+ Ensure governance compliance through the adherence to company rules, policies, guidelines, audits for the site
+ Establish leading key performance indicators associated with Logistics and Transportation performance and reports plus oversee corrective and preventive countermeasures
+ Establish and maintain processes to optimizelogistics and transportation goals
+ Act as an internal / external consultant – triage situations and provide ‘best’ solutions
+ Build relationships and work across multiple internal functions to achieve stakeholder expectations
+ Communicate and work closely with our freight payment and audit suppliers – FBAP (Freight Bill Audit Payment)
+ Participate in QBR’S (quarterly business reviews) including generation of material to support the review
+ Work in close liaison with Global trade and risk management
+ Participate in RFP (request for proposals) generations associated with contract renewals / contract awards
+ Attend all central logistics meetings / calls as functional representative
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
+ 5 to 7 yearsexperience usingSAP systems and process
Qualifications We Prefer
+ Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering degrees preferred
+ Extensive knowledge of global trade and the transportation industry
+ Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Be able to solve complex problems with a sense of urgency – utilizing networks from across the globe as necessary
+ Strong analytics, numerical, and reasoning skills
+ Be able to work independently with high integrity and accountability
+ Strategic thinker who is able to adapt quickly, thinking outside the box but staying compliant at all times
+ Proficient in technology – Microsoft suite / TMS

**Onsite** : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
