    About The Job:

    The Financial Service Representative coordinates and is responsible for all self pay collection activities for clinics and hospital. Decisions and recommendations are made related to payment arrangement, collection agencies, discounts, and provision of charity care. Guides patients through the public exchange process.

     

    The Shift: Full time

     

    Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.

     

    Wage: Starts at $17.37, increases with experience

    Qualifications

    + Education and Experience:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + A minimum of two to three years of collection experience required. Experience preferably in a medical environment.

    + Special Skills & Aptitudes:

    + Must have excellent communication skills.

    + Must be able to operate business office equipment such as a copier, fax machine, printer, calculator, etc.

    + Be able to exercise sound judgment and make decisions.

    + Remains calm when dealing with difficult situations.

    + Be able to analyze and resolve problems.

    + Use extreme tact and diplomacy in dealing with others regardless of economic status, race, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability or ability to pay

    Who We Are:

    Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.
