_What Health System Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health_
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's non-commercial specialty pharmacy.
Health System Pharmacy is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for manufacturers’ assistance programs and may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes.
_Job Summary_
The Manager, Pharmacy coordinates, directs, manages, facilitates, and oversees the execution and evaluates all administrative and clinical activities. Through the optimization of procedures, this role ensures consistent and efficient delivery to control costs, minimize waste, optimize customer relationships and deliver positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. This role is responsible for staffing, monitoring staff activities, performance and achievement of individual and departmental goals, in addition to assisting in developing policies and procedures to minimize errors.
_Responsibilities_
+ Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates all clinical activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including supervision of refilling machines, medical prescriptions database entries and dispatch of medicines.
+ Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates all administrative activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including scheduling of pharmacist tasks, monitoring process compliance and monthly reporting.
+ Implements process and procedures to comply with regulations for medicine handling including reception and storage of medicines, inventory and expenses controls.
+ Manages day to day activities of the pharmacists and monitors their performance to meet departmental goals.
+ In the absence of medicines, communicates with teams, clients and administrative areas to provide alternatives and also makes and/or supervises preparation of interveinal drugs.
+ Maintains pharmacist’s certifications and maintenance of database privileges and access controls to medical records.
+ Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist.
+ Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory and review orders to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs when necessary.
+ Leads processes for hiring of pharmacy staff, onboarding, and performance management, including leadership of competency evaluations process and documentation.
+ Manages internal workflows of specialty pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations.
+ Participates in meetings and provides insight to internal and external clients to ensure coordination among cross-functional groups.
+ Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the acute pharmacy business.
_Qualifications_
+ 4-8 years of experience, preferred
+ Licensed pharmacist in the State of Texas in good standing

**Anticipated salary range:** $109,900-$164,850
