    What You'll Do

     

    We’re looking for a strategic and results-driven CFO to lead the financial operations of our Bank & Trust companies and serve as a key advisor to the SVP of Income Solutions. This role will drive financial strategy, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance across Income Solutions.

     

    As a core member of the leadership team, the CFO will collaborate closely with Finance, Actuarial, and Enterprise partners - including Treasury, Risk, Investment, and Compliance—to support growth and deliver strong financial outcomes.

     

    + **Bank & Trust Financial Leadership:** Leads financial strategy and operations for the Bank & Trust division, including planning, asset-liability management, risk, and pricing (in collaboration with the RIS Chief Actuary and FP&A). Serves on executive teams for Bank, PCS, and PTC; represents Finance in regulatory forums; and engages directly with boards and regulators. Delivers integrated financial reporting and insights to support executive decision-making and drive performance across equity, profitability, loans, deposits, and returns.

    + **Team Development & Leadership:** Leads and mentors a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. Provides guidance and professional development opportunities to finance team members, ensuring succession planning and talent growth.

    + **Income Solutions Strategic Finance Partner:** Acts as a key advisor to the SVP of Income Solutions, identifying and executing opportunities to drive growth, efficiency, and profitability. Builds financial models and dashboards to support data-driven decisions and provides insights on industry trends and market conditions to inform strategic planning.

    + **Financial Reporting and Forecasting Support:** Supports financial reporting, forecasting, storytelling, and capital management across Income Solutions businesses in partnership with RIS FP&A and other finance areas in RIS (Chief Actuary & Chief Accounting Officer).

    Who You Are

    + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. MBA or CFA designation preferred.

    + Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management. Preference for relevant banking experience including strong understanding of balance sheet management, liquidity and interest rate risk, capital management, and regulatory requirements.

    + Proven track record in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within the banking or financial services industry.

    + Experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling.

    + Exceptional organization skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity, demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills.

    + Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the proven track record of presenting to executive management, Boards, regulators, and auditors.

    + Strong business acumen and the ability to think both strategically and tactically. Highly collaborative, with the ability to operate in a matrix environment and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Salary Range Information

     

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

     

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

     

    $174000 - $236000 / year

     

    Time Off Program

     

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

    Work Environments

     

    This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
