    DuPont has an immediate opening for an A **ftermarket Account Manager**

     

    located in **Auburn Hills, Michigan** . The Aftermarket Account Manager is responsible for managing and expanding customer relationships in the aftermarket segment for DuPont’s Adhesives business with a focus on the automotive glass-replacement (AGR) market. The role focuses on delivering customer satisfaction, maximizing revenue through existing accounts, identifying new aftermarket business opportunities and strengthening DuPont’s position as a supplier of choice for adhesive and bonding solutions in the aftermarket channel.

     

    This role will lead the development and execution of business plans, manage key customer accounts and third-party sales agents, and serve as the voice of the customer across internal cross-functional teams. Success requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation, deep market knowledge, and outstanding customer-facing capabilities.     Primary Responsibilities

    + Revenue & Earnings Optimization: Deliver on annual volume, revenue, and margin targets in alignment with broader ARG (Automotive Refinish Glass) business objectives.

    + Sales Agent Management: Lead and motivate a regional network of sales agents/distributors to meet and exceed performance KPIs and growth targets.

    + Customer Engagement: Build trust-based relationships across multiple levels of customer organizations to identify needs and deliver differentiated value.

    + Competitive Strategy: Gather and interpret market intelligence and competitor activity; formulate and communicate strategic responses, including alternative value-based solutions.

    + Problem Solving: Proactively anticipate, recognize, and resolve customer issues and barriers to ensure long-term satisfaction and account retention.

    + Automotive Aftermarket Expertise: Strong understanding of the glass-replacement value chain, including distribution models, repair shop networks, and key decision-makers.

    + Customer Focus: Builds credibility through consistent delivery of value; navigates customer organizations effectively to influence decision-making.

    + Effective Communication: Clearly articulates complex technical and commercial topics to a diverse audience; ensures alignment across internal and external stakeholders.

    + Results Orientation: Sets aggressive targets and leads with urgency; prioritizes execution while balancing long-term strategy and tactical needs.

    + Strategic Thinking: Identifies emerging trends and patterns; builds forward-looking, multi-dimensional plans that address current and future business needs.

    + Financial & Business Acumen: Utilizes financial metrics to identify opportunities, manage risks, and drive decisions that improve profitability.

    + Technical Proficiency: Adept at translating technical product advantages into customer value propositions; capable of facilitating discussions with engineering, R&D, and field tech support teams

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a plus

    + 5+ years of professional experience in sales, account management, or commercial roles

    + Prior experience in the automotive aftermarket, particularly in glass-bonding or adhesives, is highly preferred

    + Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across technical, commercial, and operational teams

    + Self-starter with high motivation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

    + Proficiency with Salesforce is a preferred

    + Willingness to travel up to 30–50% as needed for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events
