Full Time Hourly - $16.45 - $19.00 per hour

depending on qualifications and experience

Position Description:

Ensure that customers are greeted, displays are full, all products have great signage. Knowledge of all areas of the store, complete knowledge of Top 10 and Stew’s Select items, ability to use SMS to assist in customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and through email.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assisting customers with Wine selections confidently.

+ greeting all customers, modeling the customer service way

+ handles VIP and monthly events

+ assists marketing in all email campaigns

+ helping with special orders

+ working the tasting table

+ assisting in monthly price surveys

+ assisting the manager in monthly GEM % and Challenges

+ willingness to learn more and continue wine education

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. Wine Knowledge & Certification (Preferred):

+ In-depth knowledge of wine varieties, regions, production methods, and food pairings

+ Familiarity with both domestic and international wine labels

+ Certification from WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust), Court of Master Sommeliers, or similar organization is a strong plus

2. Customer Service Excellence:

+ Proven ability to provide personalized, attentive service in a retail or hospitality environment

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a wide range of customers, including high-end clientele

+ Ability to assess customer preferences and make tailored recommendations

3. Sales & Retail Experience:

+ Previous experience in wine retail, hospitality, or a related sales role

+ Comfortable meeting sales targets and upselling premium products

+ Skilled in managing inventory, restocking, and maintaining attractive product displays

4. Event Support & Hosting:

+ Willingness and enthusiasm to participate in and help coordinate high-end wine tastings, private events, and store promotions

+ Comfortable speaking to groups and educating attendees on wines

+ Able to represent the store with professionalism and deep product knowledge during off-site events

5. Professionalism & Presentation:

+ Polished and professional demeanor suitable for luxury retail and exclusive events

+ Strong sense of responsibility and accountability

+ Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated

6. Physical & Scheduling Requirements:

+ Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes of wine (up to ~40 lbs)

+ Availability to work evenings, weekends, and during special events as needed
