    This position exists to support the processing and customer service functions of the Records Department at Lake Superior College and ensures the timely, accurate and secure recording of confidential data of Records information. Processing responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: credit and non-credit registrations, contracted courses, college in the schools (CITS) course builds and registrations, post-secondary enrollment option applications (PSEO), credit by exam, grade changes, course cancellations, satisfactory academic progress, graduation, and petition processing. Customer service functions include: communicating with students regarding Records related issues in person, via telephone and email, and serving as a resource for colleagues on Records related policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities including assisting with departmental and campus committees and events.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Knowledge of program procedures sufficient to prepare correspondence, reports and informational packets.

    + Knowledge of general office equipment and procedures such as basic math, typing, data entry and related functions.

    + Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar and typing sufficient to type and edit a variety of written documents.

    + Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students and prospective students orally and in writing.

    + Ability to handle stress which occurs as a result of constant flow of people and projects.

    + Ability to train others in technical and human relation skills.

    + Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student information in order to comply with laws, rules, policies and procedures.

    + Ability to understand and apply oral and written instructions.

    + Ability to independently organize, prioritize one’s own work and meet deadlines on multiple projects and assignments.

    + Excellent keyboarding and computer skills (email, word processing, web page, PowerPoint, spreadsheet, databases) sufficient to disseminate and communicate with students and the general public.

    + Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.

    + Knowledge of Minnesota State programs, policies and procedures sufficient to answer questions for future LSC students.

    + Knowledge/experience with student information systems such as the Integrated Student Record System (ISRS).

    + Demonstrate ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiative.
