    As the Literacy Specialist, you will serve as the literacy leader to support the Collaborative Minnesota Partnerships to Advance Student Success (COMPASS) statewide system of continuous improvement. This will include supporting tier 1 instructional initiatives statewide in collaboration with the Regional Literacy Network and other COMPASS content teams. Duties will include:

     

    + Support the development of a sustainable system of processes and resources for educators and educational leaders to build their capacity to implement evidence-based literacy practices, engage families, and build educator efficacy, ultimately improving literacy outcomes for historically marginalized children in Minnesota.

    + Collaborate in the development, delivery, and ongoing support for professional development, tools, and technical assistance related to literacy in partnership with the Literacy Unit and the Regional Literacy Network.

    + Partner with a cross-division team on building administrator and educator competency around tier 1 instruction, assessment and data use.

    + Support processes for collecting and using fidelity data to improve adherence to evidence-based literacy practices.

     

    This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering state. Employees living within50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Five (5) years of professional experience

    OR

    A bachelor's degree and four (4) years of professional experience

    Experience must include:

    + Successful completion of one of the Minnesota's three approved literacy professional development programs: LETRS, OL&LA, and/or CAREIALL

    + Experience planning and implementing district-wide initiatives and professional learning related to literacy

    Preferred Qualifications

    + LETRS, OL&LA, or CAREIALL facilitator certification

    + Experience in a district literacy leadership role overseeing both elementary and secondary grade bands
