We are currently seeking to fill the following position for ourBuffalo location.
IT SYSTEMS SPECIALIST
As an IT Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our computer systems, network servers, and virtualization infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and security of our IT environment, providing technical support, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
The following is a summary of the Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including servers, firewalls, switches, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems. and other hardware/software.
+ Assist in planning and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions. Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
+ Monitor network performance, availability, and security using various tools and provide relevant reporting. Resolve network performance issues and establish business continuity objectives.
+ Respond to and resolve network-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner, including afterhours monitoring of system and/or SOC alerts.
+ Escalate issues to senior engineers or vendors when necessary.
+ Ensure network infrastructure adheres to security policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
+ Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Maintain and update systems documentation.
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams, including ERP administrators, help desk support, cybersecurity analysts, and external vendors.
+ Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
+ Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and on-site.
+ Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
+ Perform regular system backups and ensure data recovery capabilities.
+ Record, track, escalate, and resolve system level technical support requests.
+ Provide technical expertise and purchasing recommendations in support of business initiatives.
+ Provide technical support, training, and guidance to Desktop/User Support personnel and provide secondary support coverage when primary resources are unavailable.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of 2 years experience in network administration, network engineering, or a similar role.
+ Hands-on experience with network hardware from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Dell, Fortinet).
+ Experience with network monitoring tools, network infrastructure, servers, switches, routers, and email systems.
+ Knowledge of current industry standards and best practices.
+ Experience in workstation hardware, application, and operating systems.
+ Experience with telecommunications technology, mobile devices, structured cabling, and CAD application support.
+ Experience with backup and recovery software.
+ Skills:
+ Proficiency in network troubleshooting methodologies.
+ Strong knowledge of Windows server operating systems.
+ Knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
+ Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
+ Understanding cybersecurity principles and best practices.
+ Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
+ Education:
+ Minimum of an Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, Bachelors Degree preferred.
+ Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate).
+ Travel:
+ Occasional travel is required in support of project initiatives in our Huntersville, North Carolina facility, or as part of professional development training. (less than 3%)
