    Winship is seeking qualified candidates for the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer position. Position details are as follows:

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    + Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMCO) for the Winship Cancer Institute serves as a senior leader responsible for driving a unified, strategic marketing and communications vision that elevates Winship's reputation, increases clinical volumes, advances research prominence, and fuels philanthropic support.

    + Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer of Winship and Emory Healthcare's Chief Marketing Officer, with a dotted line to the Senior VP for Cancer Service Line Operations, the CMCO is both a key member of Winship's senior leadership team and a vital collaborator with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Emory Healthcare.

    + Leads the development and execution of integrated marketing, branding, communications, and digital strategies across all audiences - patients, referring providers, researchers, donors, and the general public - spanning local, regional, national, and global spheres.

    + CMCO ensures alignment with enterprise-wide priorities and is accountable for results that drive institutional reputation, patient acquisition, physician engagement, research visibility, network development, and donor cultivation.

    + Strategic Marketing LeadershipDesigns and implements data-informed marketing strategies to increase patient volumes, grows market share, and strengthens Winship's brand equity within and beyond Georgia.

    + Translates enterprise strategic plans and cancer center business objectives into measurable marketing initiatives across B2C and B2B audiences.

    + Partners with Emory Healthcare Marketing, University Communications, Strategic Planning, Access, Development, and Network Integration to coordinate messaging and maximize marketing ROI.

    + Brand Stewardship & Reputation Management - Champions a bold, differentiated Winship brand aligned with Emory's brand architecture, drive consistency, authenticity, and relevance across all touchpoints.

    + Elevates Winship's visibility and rankings by amplifying research breakthroughs, clinical innovations, and patient stories through national media, digital campaigns, and thought leadership.

    + Digital & Data-Driven Engagement - Leads omnichannel marketing including CRM, PRM, digital advertising, website optimization, and social media; oversee audience segmentation and engagement across platforms.

    + Optimizes customer journeys through data analytics, EMR integration, and performance dashboards to enhance conversion and loyalty.

    + Internal & External Communications - Develops internal communication strategies that shape culture, align teams, and build a cohesive brand experience across care sites.

    + Oversees executive communications, crisis response, event strategy, and reputation risk management.

    + Serves as a strategic advisor and speechwriter for Winship leadership; ensure readiness for media opportunities and public appearances.

    + Research & Academic Integration - Collaborates with research leadership to position scientific discovery, clinical trials, and academic excellence as key pillars of the Winship brand.

    + Enhances trans-institutional research communications by linking Emory's schools, departments, and cancer-related initiatives.

    + Philanthropy & Government Relations - Partners with Development to craft compelling donor communications and steward philanthropic storytelling that reflects impact and mission alignment.

    + Guides communications in support of government affairs, strategic partnerships, and advocacy efforts.

    + Affiliate & Network Marketing - Strengthens Winship's regional footprint through strategic marketing support for affiliate institutions and network practices; ensure brand integrity across co-marketing efforts.

    + Leadership & Talent Development - Inspires, coaches, and leads a high-performing, collaborative marketing and communications team committed to innovation, excellence, and impact.

    + Builds a culture of accountability and performance with clear KPIs and outcome-based measurement.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field; master's degree preferred.

    + Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership in healthcare marketing, ideally within an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center or academic medical center.

    + Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-wide marketing strategies, driving clinical volumes, and enhancing brand reputation.

    + Deep knowledge of oncology, cancer research, and emerging care models.

    + Expertise in digital marketing, CRM/PRM platforms, media relations, data analytics, and marketing performance measurement.

    + Exceptional communication, executive presence, and strategic thinking in a matrixed environment.
