    Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leader in the HVAC industry, has an opening for a Customer Application Engineer at our Corporate office in Bryan, OH.

     

    For over 110 years, Bard Manufacturing Company has been a family owned and operated company, leading the HVAC industry in the modular, classroom, equipment shelter, and other light commercial markets. With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia, and Mexico, we service our customers both nationwide and internationally by designing and manufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.

    Role Overview:

    The Customer Application Engineer plays a key role within the Sales and Marketing department, supporting distributors, sales representatives, and end users in selecting products that meet specific application needs. This support is typically provided through online, phone, and written communication across multiple sales channels.

     

    In addition to application support, this role provides technical assistance both internally and externally, as needed. The engineer also collaborates with technical training to develop technical presentations and deliver internal training sessions.

     

    A critical aspect of this position is contributing to New Product Development by helping define technical specifications. Success in this role depends on strong cross-functional collaboration with other departments.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    + Provides engaging interaction to customers on Bard products, including specifying, maintenance, installation and repair.

    + Prepares and delivers miscellaneous technical documents that will aid customers specifying Bard equipment.

    + Creation of technical documents that will support training department needs on an as needed basis

    + Effective and professional verbal and written communication with customers, sales reps, and end users to solve problems and assist them in a technical fashion.

    + Can travel including overnight stays on an as needed basis. No more than 15% of travel expected with this position.

    + Keeps informed on all Bard equipment and parts which requires a complete in-depth understanding of the total product line.

    + Basic skills needed to attain respect of customers are: troubleshooting problems, assisting with equipment application questions, suggesting parts and/or offering quick, quality technical advice.

    + In addition, this person may occasionally be asked to take technical phone calls in a backup role; when the situation requires

    + Perform all other duties, as assigned

    Required Experience:

    + Associates degree in HVAC technology, Engineering or related field with HVAC technical experience, or 5+ years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills

    + HVAC application technical problem and investigating skills are required

    + Ability to work under pressure and/or meet deadlines

    + Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

    + Experience in specifying, troubleshooting HVAC or related equipment, and providing instruction and guidance to others on this subject
