Job Summary: To perform various duties related to purchasing in a professional, courteous and timely manner with various customers and vendors. Issuing and placing purchase orders accurately ensures controlled substance, contractual and 340B compliance. Manage accurate inventory, purchase and accounting records. Providing pertinent documentation and information to track performance. Communicate with vendors about our concerns and expectations. Maintain a cost-effective and manageable process of medication, service and occasional capital acquisition. Assist various departmental personnel, including managers and resident pharmacists, to achieve the goal of cost-containment. Notify management about recalls, shortages, and opportunities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ Requires a minimum of 2 years experience working in a hospital or health system.

+ Minimum of 2-year college degree in finance, accounting, business, or healthcare-related field with four years preferred, or equivalent years' experience handling pharmacy inventory.

+ Requires registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician within 30 days of hire.

+ Excellent verbal communication skills, decision-making abilities and basic knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations.

+ Time management, organizational and strong math skills are required.

+ Frequent heavy lifting required.

+ Computer literacy required (Vendor database systems, Excel and Word; Outlook).
