    Our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a **Principal** **Systems** **Engineer** to join our growing team in **Oklahoma City, Oklahoma** .

     

    You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS). LSMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-2 Bomber, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.

     

    This Systems Engineer will support large projects within an Integrated Product Team (IPT), to include Field Service Representative Engineering reach back support, technical planning, requirements development and tracking, system integration, systems integrations lab (SIL), ground and flight testing, verification and validation, airworthiness, system safety, risk, reliability/maintainability, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels to include concept, requirements, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.

    Responsibilities:

    + Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

    + Perform trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

    + Serve as customer contact for program activities, as well as supporting program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance

    + Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product development, integration, and test

    + Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules

    + Identify program problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications

    + Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of assigned projects

    + Participate in presenting company capabilities to potential customers and in the development of potential solutions to customer requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Must have at least one of the following:

    + A bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with a minimum of 5 years of System Engineering experience

    + A master’s degree in science or engineering with a minimum of 3 years of System Engineering experience

    + Must be a US Citizen and have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

    + Must be able to work on-site in Oklahoma City, OK. No relocation provided

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in Systems Integration and Test, on E-3 AWACS aircraft

    + Experience in managing COTS networking systems

    + Experience in large, embedded software systems, Experience with embedded software development and/or cybersecurity

    + Experience with aircraft systems to include avionics, radar, communications, mission computing systems, global positioning systems, threat warning systems, navigation, structures, flight controls, offensive and/or defensive systems

    + Experience with obtaining flight and aircraft certifications

    + OrCAD or similar design tool experience a plus

    + Experience with Air Force customers and aerospace industry and military standards

    + Experience with test planning at the circuit card, equipment, and system level

    + Experience with information security, COMSEC and TEMPEST

    + Experience conducting analysis of electrical components within aircraft maintenance programs, determining effectiveness, and creating written recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness

    + Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)

     

    Salary Range: $90,300.00 - $135,500.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
