    Description

    Join a dynamic manufacturing company in Southington, Connecticut as a Staff Accountant. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized accounting professional to handle key financial tasks and help enhance operational efficiency. This role offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) and is ideal for candidates with a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience optimizing financial processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + General Ledger Management: Maintain, reconcile, and ensure the accuracy of financial entries in the general ledger.

    + Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and account analyses.

    + Financial Reporting: Compile and generate accurate financial reports to support decision-making by leadership.

    + Accounts Payable & Receivable: Support both AP and AR operations, ensuring timely payment processing and collections.

    + Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analyses related to manufacturing operations and report variances.

    + Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, and assist in resolving discrepancies.

    + Compliance: Ensure adherence to corporate policies, GAAP, and relevant regulatory compliance standards.

    + Tax Support: Assist with tax filings, including sales tax reporting, and provide documentation for auditors.

    + System Improvement: Contribute to streamlining and improving accounting systems and processes for efficiency.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    + Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field (preferred but not required).

    + Experience:

    + At least 2–3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing industry setting is highly desirable.

    + Technical Skills:

    + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).

    + Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

    + Accounting Knowledge:

    + Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP principles.

    + Experience with cost accounting in manufacturing environments preferred.

    + Analytical Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and provide insights.

    + Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured environment.

    + Team Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively across departments, providing support to operations, finance, and leadership teams.
