Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team on a Contract to permanent basis in Mansfield, Texas. In this role, you will handle cash application and reconciliation of daily cash receipts while supporting various departments, including customer accounts and accounting. This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to month-end closings and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions in a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment.
Responsibilities:
• Reconcile daily cash receipts against bank and payment processor reports to ensure accuracy.
• Perform data entry tasks using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other tools while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, ensuring all accounts receivable records are up-to-date.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, including customer accounts, accounting, and international branches, to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents, ensuring compliance with company retention policies.
• Generate and proofread data reports to identify and correct errors before finalizing.
• Protect sensitive company information by maintaining confidentiality in all financial transactions.
• Identify and report irregularities in accounts receivable processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Provide training and cross-training to team members to ensure knowledge-sharing and operational consistency.
• Stay updated on accounting practices and participate in continuous learning opportunities to enhance skills. Requirements
• Minimum of two years of experience in accounts receivable with progressive responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and GL accounts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables.
• Experience with cash applications, account reconciliations, and credit card transactions preferred.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and other departments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of organizational ability.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, or weekends when needed.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information
