Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team at a leading real estate investment trust in the Horsham, Pennsylvania area. This role is integral to managing the corporate accounting close process for a portfolio consisting of over nine million square feet of office and industrial properties. The position involves collaboration with various departments, including operations, financial reporting, and executive leadership, to ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly and quarterly corporate accounting close process, covering areas such as cash, restricted cash, debt, equity, prepaids, accrued expenses, and intercompany transactions.

• Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and Treasurer to conduct cash management and forecasting, ensuring appropriate funding of debt service payments.

• Prepare and review lender reporting packages, including debt covenant calculations, on a monthly and quarterly basis.

• Develop business partner reporting packages and support documentation to meet reporting requirements.

• Assist external tax accountants with taxable income projections and review tax returns for accuracy and compliance.

• Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to uphold the integrity of financial systems and processes.

• Provide support to the Corporate Controller and financial reporting team by preparing detailed documentation for ad hoc requests.

• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to enhance efficiency in accounting workpapers and analyses.

• Exhibit proficiency in the company’s general ledger and operational systems to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

• Manage and prioritize special projects and additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• Minimum of four years of accounting experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and industry expertise.

• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Proven ability to manage deadlines and produce results in a fast-paced environment.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex functions and analyses.

• Experience with Yardi or similar real estate accounting software is preferred.

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills to support financial decision-making.

• Demonstrated self-management and leadership capabilities to drive initiatives effectively.
