    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join a small, collaborative team in Livingston, New Jersey. This is a Contract to permanent position offering an opportunity to contribute to a variety of accounting functions in a detail-oriented yet close-knit office environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and be proficient in QuickBooks and Excel.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support month-end and year-end closing processes.

    • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including invoicing and payment processing.

    • Generate and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and standards.

    • Perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate records.

    • Review and reconcile balance sheets to identify and resolve discrepancies.

    • Utilize QuickBooks for daily accounting tasks and reporting.

    • Create and work with Excel spreadsheets, including using pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

    • Collaborate with office staff to ensure smooth daily operations and adherence to accounting best practices.

     

    Requirements • Minimum of 15 years of accounting experience, preferably within a small office environment.

     

    • Proficiency in QuickBooks with hands-on experience managing accounting tasks.

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

    • Strong understanding of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations.

    • Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

    • Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements with precision.

    • Skilled in performing bank and account reconciliations.

    • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a small team.
