    Are you looking to make the long-awaited move in-house and bring your litigation skills to a growing company?

     

    Robert Half Legal is partnering with a real estate company in Long Beach, seeking a 10+ year litigation attorney to work in-house with the expanding legal team. A California AND Nevada bar is required!

    Responsibilities of Role:

    This litigation attorney will be responsible for litigation from A-Z. The company tries not to use outside counsel, so attorneys handle everything:

     

    + Responding to complaints

    + Drafting motions

    + Propounding and responding to discovery

    + Devising case strategy

    + Drafting aw & motion, briefs, and other legal research & writing

    + Negotiating settlements

    + Preparing for (and occasionally going to) trial

    + Though some cases are settled, this company is not afraid to take cases to trial. It’s not often, but they go to trial around once a year.

     

    Litigation issues run the gambit from ADA claims to tenant liability to employee class action stuff (single and multi-plaintiff liability claims). The ability to work on a variety of matters is imperative.

     

    ^ Compensation is directly tied to relevant experience and fluency with the duties above.

    Details of Role:

    • Hours: Standard business hours, but no strict start/end time. About 50 hours/week.

    • Schedule: Must be able to work in Long Beach office twice a week at minimum (but ideally more).

    • Benefits: Healthcare, 401K + match, PTO, and more.

    • Compensation: DOE on litigation experience, but likely $175K-250K.

    Requirements

    + 10+ years of licensed experience in civil litigation here in CA.

    + Knowledge of how to run a case from A-Z (this company wants someone who can hit the ground running) without supervision.

    + CA & NV bar license.
