    **Work Type:** Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)

    **Shift:** Shift 1

    **Work Schedule:** 8 Hr (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

    **Pay Range:** $79.20 - $133.06 per hour

    Summary:

    The successful candidate will provide clinical, regulatory, and technical instrumentation support for diagnostic imaging equipment in their area of expertise under the direction of the Division Head of Diagnostic Medical Physics. The candidate will be responsible for meeting the requirements of general daily operations and complying with regulatory and accrediting body requirements for the modality to which their training and credentialing applies. In addition, the candidate will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • PhD or MS degree in Medical Physics or similar field.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology or other applicable specialty board.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.     • Frequently able to wear 0.5 mm lead equivalent apron for a period of 4 hours.

    • Frequently able to lift phantoms weighing up to 50 pounds.

    • Frequently able to work standing for prolonged periods of time.

    • Frequently able to visualize image artifacts in clinical images.

    • Frequently perform activities that require stooping, bending and reaching, squatting, balancing, and trunk twisting throughout the day.

    • Frequently able to communicate verbally and in written form.

    • Frequently able to use all types of vision for moving medical equipment and visualizing image artifacts in clinical images.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Performs quality assurance testing, acceptance and accreditation testing of equipment located at Rush. All testing will be in accordance with Illinois Emergency Management Agency regulations and regulatory or accrediting body requirements (ACR, TJC, etc).

    2. Maintains and establishes, when applicable, ACR accreditation of imaging equipment

    3. Establishes, maintains and oversees a quality control program designed to ensure continuous quality improvement at Rush. Quality control programs will be consistent with established regulatory and accrediting body standards.

    4. Assists with identifying and procuring test equipment required for quality control programs and systems testing and performance evaluation.

    5. Performs quarterly quality control reviews and prepares trend analysis and reports.

    6. Assists radiology staff with general protocol optimization, including proper equipment use.

    7. Investigates complaints on image quality; follows through on complaint resolution; and documents solution. Collaboration with section leadership to institute corrections.

    8. Assists with commissioning of new imaging systems and support equipment.

    9. Supports clinical procedures within the Department of Diagnostic Services.

    10. Participates in basic, applied, or translational research.

    11. Provides scientific leadership in their field of expertise, mentors faculty and trainees, establishes collaborations with Rush faculty and partners, and assists investigators with data analysis, interpretation, and publication of results.

    12. Participates in ongoing physics education of Radiology Residents according to the curriculum established by the division head

    13. May perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Division Head.
