Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within commercial and residential construction environments. This role will be responsible for job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, and month-end reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Project Managers and the Finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and project performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Job Costing:

+ Monitor and maintain accurate job cost records for multiple ongoing projects.

+ Allocate costs appropriately to cost codes and ensure compliance with contract terms.

+ Work with Project Managers to review and validate job cost details.

+ WIP Reporting & Analysis:

+ Prepare and update monthly Work in Progress (WIP) schedules.

+ Analyze project performance and identify cost overruns or savings.

+ Collaborate with Project Managers to understand job status and forecast financial outcomes.

+ Budget-to-Actual Reporting:

+ Perform monthly variance analysis comparing actuals to project budgets.

+ Partner with operational teams to investigate and explain variances.

+ Assist in reforecasting project budgets as needed.

+ Month-End Close & Reconciliations:

+ Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.

+ Perform reconciliations for general ledger accounts including cash, AR/AP, and job cost accounts.

+ Ensure financials are closed timely and accurately each month.

+ Collaboration & Communication:

+ Serve as a liaison between accounting and project teams.

+ Provide financial insight and support for strategic decision-making.

+ Assist with year-end audit and provide documentation as needed.

Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial analysis.

• Strong knowledge of balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes.

• Proficiency in managing general ledger and journal entries.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.

• Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.

• Ability to handle month-end close processes with precision and efficiency.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
