Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join a construction industry leader based in Lakeside, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong expertise in union payroll processes and prevailing wage requirements. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations.
Responsibilities:
• Process and manage payroll for construction projects, ensuring compliance with union agreements and prevailing wage laws.
• Handle certified payroll reporting and maintain accurate records for audit purposes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to address payroll-related inquiries and provide timely solutions.
• Utilize Vista accounting software to execute payroll functions efficiently.
• Conduct benefits administration, including 401k and other employee programs.
• Ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and deductions while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Generate detailed payroll reports for management review and decision-making.
• Perform reconciliation of payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure compliance across all processes.
• Support the team with any additional payroll-related tasks as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years focused on construction payroll.
• Proficiency in managing union payrolls and understanding prevailing wage requirements.
• Familiarity with Vista accounting software is preferred.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-pressure situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently while collaborating with others.
