Billing Manager ~ Washington, D.C. area

$160k, plus bonus, excellent benefits, growing company!

My client is a Global Law firm located in downtown Washington, D.C. with a need for an experienced Billing Manager. The Billing Manager will report to the Director of Finance and be responsible for preparing invoices and overseeing a team of Billing Coordinators. This is an exciting new opportunity that provides career growth and new daily challenges. The Billing Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

• Maintain a thorough knowledge of client terms, discount arrangements, lawyer and client preferences while managing the complete billing process for assigned billing responsible attorneys

• Provide strategic oversight of the billing department including implementing process improvements and efficiencies,

• Manage rates and complex billing arrangements

• Manage the production of firm standard billing proformas for review by billing responsible attorneys each month

• Performance management for the billing coordinators, e-billing specialist, and team lead

• Edit and finalize invoices based on instructions provided by the billing responsible attorneys and client guidelines

• Submit electronic invoices via e-billing guidelines

• Respond to information requests from Partners, lawyers, clients and staff related to client billings

• Manage invoices submitted through the various e-billing systems to ensure submission

• Produce monthly statements for outstanding invoices and send same to clients

Requirements:

5 + years supervisory Billing Experience in a law firm

-Must have experience with 3E or Adherent

-Must have great critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Must be strong in Microsoft Excel Skills

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in billing management or a related field.

• Strong expertise in auditing and financial processes.

• Proficiency in legal billing practices and familiarity with industry standards.

• Hands-on experience with accounts receivable systems and related workflows.

• Advanced knowledge of accounting software, particularly Elite 3E.

• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting financial data.
