Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join our team in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this contract position, you will play a critical role in managing procurement and inventory processes, ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining supplier relationships. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in supply chain management and purchasing activities.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the procurement of direct and indirect goods, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines.
• Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans aimed at reducing costs and optimizing vendor relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Monitor supplier performance through regular assessments and evaluations to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing and supply chain activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address supply issues, evaluate capabilities, and analyze the impact on product development.
• Issue purchase orders for required goods, equipment, and supplies, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project needs.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and company standards.
• Expedite shipments when necessary and address issues related to delivery timelines, quality, or quantity.
• Oversee inventory levels, including re-ordering, receiving, and storing equipment, while ensuring proper adjustments in the inventory management system.
Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in supply chain management or purchasing activities.
• Proficiency in logistics, supply chain logistics, and inventory management.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing materials and indirect purchasing processes.
• Ability to handle invoice discrepancies and resolve procurement-related issues effectively.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other inventory management tools.
• Excellent negotiation skills for vendor contracts and pricing agreements.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple procurement tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to perform accurate year-end inventory counts and maintain system integrity.
