Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Orangeburg, South Carolina. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across payroll, accounts payable, and student refunds. This role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to lead and improve processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all disbursement activities, including payroll processing, accounts payable, and student refund operations.

• Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including tax withholdings and benefits deductions.

• Supervise the processing of vendor invoices, purchase orders, travel reimbursements, and other payables, maintaining proper documentation and authorization.

• Administer student refund processes in compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies.

• Develop and enforce internal controls to maintain the integrity and efficiency of disbursement functions.

• Act as a liaison to departments such as Human Resources and Student Financial Services to resolve issues related to disbursements.

• Prepare detailed reports on payroll, payables, and refund activities for management review.

• Provide training, supervision, and evaluation of disbursement staff to ensure high standards of accuracy and compliance.

• Support audits and compliance reviews by coordinating required documentation and responses.

• Identify and implement system and procedural improvements to optimize financial operations. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• At least 10 years of experience in accounting, with senior-level expertise in general ledger management and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in payroll systems, such as ADP, and strong knowledge of accounts payable processes.

• Familiarity with student refund processes and federal regulations, including Title IV compliance.

• Prior experience in the education or non-profit sector is highly desirable.

• Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial operations.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
