    Summary You will serve as a Crane and Rigging Accident Prevention Coordinator in the Lifting and Handling Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. This announcement if for an Upward Mobility Program Position Responsibilities You will manage the efficient use of resources to gather, assess, and analyze data, document, and identify trends in poor rigging and crane work performance, and identify instances of non-compliance. You will recommend corrective action on non-compliance issues and reverse trends, coordinate improvement initiatives, track actions, advise and instruct in support of programs, and intercept and correct poor rigging or crane operation practices. You will initiate action to stop work, correct unsafe conditions and ensure the safe work practices are followed as situations warrant. You will prepare written materials translating and publicizing the Waterfront Support Department Head plans and objectives on a wide variety of subjects. You will analyze accident reports and performs job analysis statistics to control and minimize unsafe/hazardous conditions. You will compile and analyze statistical data to prepare charts, tables, and reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications The Upward Mobility Program is a unique job opportunity. The entry level for this position is a GS-09 with a full performance level of GS-11. Knowledge of employees selected may vary and will require the development of individually tailored training plans to assist them in qualifying or the full performance level of this position. Eligibility requires that employees be performing satisfactory, complete all training requirements, acquire the requisite qualifications and have met time-in-grade eligibility for career ladder promotions. This recruitment is open to applicants with GS-09 or WG-5210-10 or WG-5725-10(or higher) equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to gather and analyze data to Identify trends and recommend changes to control or minimize unsafe conditions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accident Prevention Program. Employee Participation Requirements: Must be a current permanent employee serving under a competitive appointment, or under a time-limited or excepted appointment that provides for noncompetitive conversion to a permanent appointment (e.g. VRA, Schedule A) Employees must be GS-09 or WG-10 equivalent (or higher) to be eligible for this opportunity. Have and maintain an annual performance rating of fully successful or equivalent rating.
