Hiring Range: $62,608-$75,130
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm
This position is devoted to providing technical support, administration, and maintenance of the General Services Department’s technology systems and equipment, including user support, data management and data extraction/analysis. This position will perform professional information technology work that requires independent evaluation and analysis of issues and the exercise of judgment, education, and experience to select and apply criteria to resolve problems and make recommendations. Decision-making includes selecting the method to address a problem or issue, subject to the constraints established by management objectives and direction.
Position is responsible for reviewing data for accuracy and quality; researching, analyzing, and updating data; assessing business needs; configuring systems; responding to user requests; troubleshooting systems or network issues; writing reports and queries; administering servers or networks; installing and configuring updates; backing up data; configuring access; and performing related duties.
Duties/Responsibilities
+ Provides journey-level information technology support for the General Services Department; researches, analyzes and updates data, including creating and maintaining spatial databases; develops maps, as assigned; assesses business requirements; troubleshoots system, database, and network issues, coordinating with enterprise technology operations as required; writes queries; administers servers or networks; installs and configures systems and updates; configures system access; and manages and plans storage capacity, as assigned
+ Prepares, reviews, maintains, and/or submits plans, reports, records, contracts, plats, agreements, and other documents; researches, compiles, analyzes, retrieves, and/or presents information; and reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
+ Collaborates with City departments, City-approved Vendors, and/or external agencies to respond to system errors, software / hardware issues, and user or data requests.
+ Develops and administers process improvement studies.
+ Serves as the technical point of contact for departmental technology needs, coordination, and special projects.
+ Provides software and hardware system management and training for divisions within the General Services Department.
+ Gathers and analyzes data; installs patches and updates; modifies the setup of software to accommodate ongoing changes in operations; develops reports.
+ Facilitates task team(s) for ongoing development and maintenance of department information systems including ensuring data quality.
+ Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in computer science, information technology, or directly related field
+ One year of related professional information technology experience.
Additional Preferred Skills
+ GIS experience a plus. (ArcGIS suite of software solutions, ArcGIS Indoors, ArcGIS Field maps, etc.)
+ Familiarity with asset management software. (City Works AMS/PLL, Archibus, Asset Essentials, etc.)
+ Experience with BOSS ticketing system or similar help desk software.
+ Experience implementing asset management software for municipalities or similar organizations.
+ Proficiency in data management and analysis.
+ Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-departmental role.
