Overview BigBear.ai is actively seeking to add a Database Manager, with a focus on the deployment, maintenance, and routine operation of an application as a part of our top-notch software development team working on the Department of the Army’s Army Synchronization Tool (AST). The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is equally talented in individual and team focused work displaying a keen understanding of Army and Department of Defense systems with excellent communication and problem-solving skills coupled with creativity, innovative thought, and a vision for what could be. This position is based out of Fort Bragg, NC and is on-site five days a week. Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret (or higher) security clearance. What you will do Assist with deployment of new code releases and bug fixes. Improve deployment automation of our web application. Execute data and ETL updates. Troubleshoot and fix system issues and outages in conjunction with the server team. Perform customer requested ad-hoc data retrieval from AST’s SQL Server. Provide advice to projects around technical solutions, best practices, and efficiencies. Recommend improvements and upgrades to systems based on users' needs. Review security scans for new releases. Document configuration changes and ensure systems follow the DoD and U.S. Army cybersecurity policies in coordination with Information Assurance Manager. Review application and web server logs to identify and report security-related issues in coordination with Information Assurance manager. Maintain system performance, efficiency and integrity of a database system in coordination with FORSCOM G-6 personnel. Provide oral and written advice and explanations to technicians and senior leaders. Travel Required (CONUS/OCONUS): occasional/infrequent (5%). Limited customer service requirements and other application System Administrator duties. Other duties as required. What you need to have Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret (or higher) security clearance. BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience, or; Associates Degree with 7+ years of experience, or; Advanced Degree (MA/MS) with 3+ years of experience, or; 9+ years of professional experience, with no degree Minimum of five years-experience with Department of the Army, Department of Defense and/or Joint Staff force structure, programs, automation systems, and strategic operational requirements. Experience in SQL including stored procedures, views, and common table expressions (CTE). Demonstrable experience leveraging relational databases to support application development. Microsoft SQL Server preferred but not required. An ability to rapidly internalize unfamiliar concepts and systems, determine how best to leverage automation to resolve inefficiencies and improve collaboration. Ability to influence stakeholders to determine acceptable / feasible solutions. Proven documentation skills and demonstrable competency with: Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Share Point, and Access. Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational. Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Demonstrated excellence in analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize with associated time management skills. What we'd like you to have Security + certification to assist with FORSCOM G6 System Administrator rights and permissions.
