    The Binghamton City School District seeks candidates to fill an anticipated Custodial Supervisor position for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

    Job Qualifications

    In order to be considered for this opening, applicants must be:

    + + Currently on the Civil Service eligible list for the title, or

    + Currently appointed to the title, or

    + Eligible to take the exam for the title when it becomes available

    CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR

    The duties of this position involve the responsibility for the efficient cleaning and maintenance of the school building. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of School Facilities and Operations. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of cleaning workers. Does related work as required.

    Typical Work Activities:

    + Supervises and participates with Custodial Staff district-wide to maintain the district's expectations of cleanliness, health, and safety

    + Assist the Director of Facilities in planning work specifications and developing strategies to ensure the health and safety of the facilities and occupants.

    + Makes regular inspections of school buildings to maintain proper cleaning and maintenance procedures.

    + Relay maintenance, repair, and operational needs at the building level to the Director of Facilities.

    + Assists the Director of Facilities with scheduling assignments and distribution of work orders to custodial staff.

    + Orders necessary supplies

    + Coordinates with the building's head and senior custodians to ensure the buildings are locked/unlocked and ready for all activities

    + Maintains records and reports.

    Job Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Two years of experience in building cleaning and maintenance activities, one year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity
