Job Title: Plant AccountantJob Description

The Plant Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting of all costs, including production-related costs, cost of sales, and operating/overhead expenses. This role involves periodic reporting of operational metrics to plant and business unit management, data analysis, and identifying areas for process or cost improvement. Additional responsibilities include extracting data and creating reports, month-end closing journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations.

Responsibilities

+ Perform general cost accounting and related duties.

+ Prepare monthly financial statements and related KPI reports.

+ Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and perform month-end close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

+ Code invoices, reconcile accounts, and provide variance explanations.

+ Assist with annual budget and monthly forecasting with related variance reporting.

+ Verify and complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable, ensuring payments are charged to appropriate accounts.

+ Adhere to the system of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX).

+ Generate inventory and operational reports for management.

+ Coordinate and reconcile semi-annual physical inventory counts.

+ Provide assistance to internal auditors by gathering necessary account information and support.

+ Support weekly and bi-weekly payroll and payroll reporting as needed.

+ Assist with requests from external auditors.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Financial accounting and cost accounting experience.

+ Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.

+ 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with SAP, UltiPro, UKG.

+ 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Work Environment

This position is 100% in-office, Monday through Friday, from 6am to 3:30pm. The work schedule may extend past 3:30pm during month-end close. The accountant will handle all accounting responsibilities for the Ashland City location, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.23 - $45.67/hr.
