The Billing Clerk is responsible for managing the billing process from start to finish. This role ensures accurate customer quotes, timely invoicing, maintains up-to-date customer records, and resolves billing-related inquiries. The Billing Clerk works closely with supervisors and managers to verify charges, prepare invoices and credit memos, and issue them to customers via mail or email. Additionally, the role involves calculating amounts owed, updating billing systems, and supporting financial operations through document management and customer service. Coordination with other departments and attention to detail are essential to ensure smooth billing cycles and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the entire billing process ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
+ Prepare and verify customer quotes and invoices.
+ Maintain and update customer records accurately.
+ Resolve billing-related inquiries efficiently.
+ Calculate amounts owed and update billing systems accordingly.
+ Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth billing cycles.
+ Support financial operations through document management and customer service.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in data entry and inputting detailed shipment quote information.
+ Strong attention to detail, especially in quoting accurate information.
+ Experience in logistics, invoicing, and medical billing is highly preferred.
+ Customer service skills and experience in accounts receivable and billing collections.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly email communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or GED equivalent.
+ One-year of business billing experience is preferred.
+ Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office environment with a team of around 13 members in the department. The setup involves cubicles, and the dress code is casual, excluding workout wear. The position is on-site, and the training shift is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Operational hours vary between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and specific shifts will be discussed during the interview process.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
