Position Summary
A career in Rates within ETG involves compiling and analyzing data from company records, financial data and operating statistics which are necessary for filing rate and regulatory reports, rate filings and tariff structures. This role will prepare filings made with the NJ Board of Public Utilities to meet company revenue needs and comply with regulatory requirements. It will primarily assist in modeling, forecasting, tracking and analyzing data related to rates and regulatory filings and reports and requires a seasoned, experienced professional with an understanding of diverse financial concepts. It is expected that the person in this role will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to a wide range of issues, may act as a technical resource for less experienced employees and may present results in team meetings. The person in this role will receive little instruction on day-to-day activities and will receive general instructions on new assignments but is expected to work independently to produce desired results.
Essential Duties & Functions:
+ Maintain, update and revise rate models with financial and accounting data and prepare related analyses.
+ Review monthly rate calculations and associated filings and update the billing system.
+ Prepare testimony and supporting exhibits for regulatory filings.
+ Draft and review discovery for regulatory filings.
+ Assist with the development of rate case materials and support expert witnesses as needed. Assist in modeling of new or updated tariff riders as needed.
+ Determine the impact of rate activities on customer bills and company financials.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of the company’s tariff and BPU regulations.
+ Perform various ad hoc analyses, interpret results, and present in a concise manner.
+ Monitor communications related to rate matters and keep abreast of current regulatory developments and their potential impact to rates and filing requirements.
Qualifications
Required Background:
+ Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or;
+ Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
+ Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Skills:
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Analyze and evaluate data and present it in an understandable manner appropriate for the audience in either written or spreadsheet format;
+ Independently plan and execute assignments that support routine activities and project goals;
+ Select appropriate methods and techniques in performing all activities;
+ Recommend alternatives, identify improved methods and/or techniques and proactively present solutions to supervisory personnel;
+ Collaborate with supervisory personnel to develop routine methods and demonstrate a good level of understanding of project goals.
+ Strong organizational skills to handle multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
+ Able to deal with ambiguity and to work with minimal direct supervision.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
+ Advanced Microsoft Office skill level, specifically Excel, as well as Word proficiency .

Compensation Range:
$97,500 - 156,000
We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
