The*USG MSW Program Director*position is a 12-month, full time open rank Clinical Faculty position to provide administrative leadership of the off-campus Master of Social Work program located at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG). This position will report to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Candidates who apply are encouraged to identify their strengths in this area. *Essential Functions:* * Provides direction and leadership for the USG MSW program. * Develops and implements student events and programming for USG MSW students. * Oversees MSW student recruitment and admission processes for the USG program. * Coordinates with the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Office of Field Education, Office of Student Affairs, and Universities at Shady Grove Departments to ensure the effective operation and outcomes of the MSW program at USG. * Coordinates advising and support services to students at USG regarding plans of study, academic performance, and any problems and concerns. * Serves on MSW Program committees, including the Scholarship Committee and the Course Scheduling Committee. * Maintains and analyzes adequate, accurate, and timely data for reporting and strategic decision-making to advance the School’s mission and strategic goals. * Cultivates and develops positive and collaborative working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. * Participates in school and university activities, meetings, trainings, and committees which pertain to the education, training, and field experiences of USG MSW students. * Supports and enhances a sense of belonging and success of all students. * Performs other duties as assigned. *Education: *Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work. ***Experience:* A minimum of two (2) years post-MSW social work practice experience is required. A minimum of five (5) years spent progressively building a background in student services and higher education activities is required. Prior experience in social work professional education is preferred. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* * Effective communication in both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. * Ability to work cooperatively with diverse populations and demonstrate professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. * Ability to establish goals, structures, and processes necessary to implement a mission and strategic vision. *This is an Open Rank position. The hiring salary range will vary based on assigned rank and candidate experience.* UMB is a Maryland state university.
