    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative and mechanical maintenance on rail cars and equipment used for transporting packaged cement products. This role involves utilizing tools on-site, with a focus on using a grease gun tool. The position requires performing repairs on equipment located 26 flights of stairs above the ground floor. Welding and cutting assignments are essential, including fabrication of plant equipment and structures and repair of worn process equipment according to plant standards. The mechanic must have knowledge of 480 V systems and troubleshooting batteries on rail cars, maintaining a detail-oriented and prideful work attitude.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform maintenance mechanic assignments on plant equipment and facilities.

    + Collect data for preventative and predictive plant maintenance projects.

    + Conduct millwright assignments such as bearing replacement, equipment alignment, and inspection and repair of power transmission according to plant standards.

    + Perform welding and cutting assignments including fabrication and repair of plant equipment and structures.

    + Inspect lubrication for mechanical equipment, record running equipment data, take lab samples, and change oil and filters on equipment oil reservoirs.

    + Execute pipefitter assignments to install, maintain, and inspect piping structures on all types of systems.

    + Operate mobile equipment to assist with maintenance duties.

    + Perform plumbing inspection and repair on plant equipment and facilities.

    + Adhere to safety regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.

    + Meet or exceed company safety standards.

    + Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Welding proficiency.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude.

    + Experience in preventative maintenance.

    + Ability to perform manual labor and general tasks.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Heavy lifting capability.

    + Equipment operating experience preferred.

    + General labor experience.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $54000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
