    Job Title: Material Handling and Saw Operation Specialist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handling and Saw Operation Specialist to join our team. This position involves handling trucks with uncut material, operating forklifts and cranes, interpreting blueprints, and preparing parts for shipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Transport trucks with uncut material, approximately 1-2 times a day.

    + Utilize a sit-down forklift to unload materials.

    + Operate a single hoist crane to move products.

    + Read and interpret blueprints to understand required measurements.

    + Use a band saw to cut materials accurately.

    + Measure materials with tape measure, micrometers, and calipers to ensure precision cuts.

    + Bring cut products to the staging area.

    + Prepare parts for shipment.

    + Read tape measure up to 1/16th of an inch.

    + Assist in various areas as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with saw operation and band saw usage.

    + Proficiency in sit-down forklift operation.

    + Heavy industrial experience.

    + Blueprint reading skills.

    + Crane operation experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Nice to have CNC experience.

    + Overhead crane experience is an advantage.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a small job shop with approximately 20 employees. The company specializes in building large welding equipment. The President and Owner are on-site, fostering a close-knit and supportive team atmosphere. The standard working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schererville, Indiana

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
