Job Title: Solderer
Job Description
Engage in electronics manufacturing for military and defense customers, specifically working on circuit boards integral to night vision goggles used by the US Army and Coal Miners' belts. These technologies play a crucial role in safety and operations, such as shutting off machines when heavy equipment gets too close underground. The solderer will handle small components and boards for Army and Defense contractors, performing class 3 soldering work that is mission critical. This involves soldering active PC boards to customer specifications, ensuring the final work passes quality inspections and integrates into larger items, predominantly for government use.
Responsibilities
+ Follow the Quality Management System.
+ Perform assembly operations in accordance with training and customer requirements.
+ Interpret customer-supplied documentation and drawings accurately, or seek guidance when needed.
+ Inspect mechanical components and assemblies using a microscope to ensure adherence to specific requirements.
+ Clean parts and assemblies at various production stages using cleaning devices and equipment.
+ Complete and maintain records of production and defects.
+ Conduct coil inductor fabrication, including quality inspection, measurement, and sorting.
+ Test and analyze transformer components, including measurement and sorting.
+ Prepare BGA components utilizing solder paste and spheres.
+ Perform component tinning using solder pot.
+ Mask boards and components per schematic or product sample before conformal coating.
+ Prep for machine changeovers and hand load components to PCB.
+ Disassemble chassis for troubleshooting or debugging processes.
+ Replace labels and clean debris from CRM assemblies.
+ Apply various compounds and adhesives.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of component identification and polarity.
+ Ability to read and interpret customer schematic diagrams and requirements.
+ Proficiency in performing repetitive work with good attention to detail.
+ Basic mechanical assembly skills.
+ Effective oral and written communication skills.
+ Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
+ Competence in comprehending and following verbal and written instructions.
+ Skill in safely operating various equipment, including microscopes.
+ Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing at least 35 pounds over short distances.
Work Environment
Work within a structured environment that requires adherence to specific guidelines for electronics manufacturing. The position involves using advanced technologies and equipment, including microscopes, and requires attention to detail, precision, and safety. Dress code is standard for a manufacturing setting, with a focus on safety and cleanliness. The schedule consists of four ten-hour workdays, Monday through Thursday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, Alabama.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
