Job Title: Bakery Store Clerk

Job Description

Join our team as a Bakery Clerk, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our bakery store. You will be responsible for picking merchandise from bins or shelves, preparing and packaging orders for shipment according to customer requirements, and ensuring the completeness and correctness of all orders filled. In addition, you will organize merchandise, fold clothing, assist with cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor, and demonstrate workplace behavior consistent with company policies and values. Communication is key in this role, as you will convey job information to accomplish work tasks. Maintaining good attendance and practicing good personal hygiene are essential, along with exercising personal safety on the job and demonstrating a commitment to the safety of others and our products.

Responsibilities

+ Pick merchandise from bins or shelves.

+ Prepare and package orders for shipment according to customer requirements.

+ Ensure completeness and correctness of all orders filled.

+ Organize merchandise and fold clothing.

+ Assist with cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor.

+ Maintain good attendance as defined by company and/or department policy.

+ Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and use wheeled carts weighing up to 250 pounds.

+ Capability to lift up to 25 pounds from the floor repeatedly.

+ Ability to move up to 50 pounds from waist level to pallet (height varies from 6” – 48” from floor) repeatedly.

Work Environment

The work environment is structured around an 8am-5pm shift, Monday to Friday, with minimal weekend work. Occasionally, there is flexibility to work from 7:30am-4pm upon request. You will be part of a small team of 15 people, requiring strong teamwork skills. There are no production goals, but everyone is expected to contribute significantly to the team's success. Key attributes for permanence include good attendance, attitude, and effort. The dress code includes khaki or jeans and a plain polo or nice T-shirt. This is a tobacco-free worksite, and specific attire regulations must be adhered to, including solid blue jeans with no holes, approved shoes, and a solid color T-shirt without logos. Beards must be neatly trimmed, piercings removed, and phones are not allowed in most work areas. Glass is prohibited in most buildings.

This is a Contract position based out of Ooltewah, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.95/hr.
