Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated CDL A Driver for a role involving nightly departures from Cleveland, Ohio to Chicago International Airport. This position offers a structured schedule and primarily involves no-touch freight, allowing drivers to observe the loading and unloading process.

Responsibilities

+ Depart nightly from Cleveland at 2200 hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, arriving at Chicago International Airport by 0600 hours the next day.

+ Ensure a minimum of 10 hours off before returning on duty to make airline or company pick-ups around ORD airport and drive back to Cleveland.

+ Operate a 53-foot dry van tractor-trailer truck safely and efficiently.

+ Inspect the truck before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance.

+ Track and document activity logs accurately using the provided electronic logging device system.

+ Report any issues or incidents to dispatch promptly.

+ Utilize fuel cards, EZ-pass, and Samsara cab camera for ease of operations.

Essential Skills

+ _Valid CDL A license with Haz-Mat endorsement._

+ Clean driving record.

+ Ability to operate sleeper cabs and automatic trucks such as Freightliner and International.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ DOT card required.

+ Willingness to obtain Hazmat endorsement within 90 days for a pay increase.

+ Experience with Penske leased and maintained fleet is beneficial.

Work Environment

This position involves working in non-climate controlled environments, primarily within vehicles and on the road. Drivers will be home throughout the week, offering a balance between work and home life.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $64000.00 - $64000.00/yr.
