Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled Maintenance Technicians with experience in PLC, ladder logic, and ammonia/refrigeration. A strong background in electrical MX is essential for this role. You will work in a 40-degree cold environment, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze mechanical and operational processing equipment and resolve issues using hand tools and trade tools.
+ Repair production equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
+ Troubleshoot electrical issues by accessing electrical panels and replacing components such as starters, contactors, and relays.
+ Ensure machinery and mechanical equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of electrical skills with VFDs and PLCs in an industrial setting.
+ Read and interpret schematic drawings accurately.
+ Perform preventative maintenance following standard operating procedures.
+ Utilize a computer-based program to enter labor hours and manage work orders.
+ Maintain a safe workplace by following all safety procedures and using appropriate PPE.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with PLC and ladder logic.
+ Knowledge of ammonia/refrigeration systems.
+ Electrical MX experience.
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of FORMAX, HVAC, HAZMAT, MULTIVAC, and Ammonia Refrigeration preferred.
+ Ability to lift 60-80 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, climbing, and reaching.
+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
+ Familiarity with meat grinding equipment, beef patty forming equipment, liquid nitrogen freezers, and various packaging machines.

Work Environment
Work is primarily performed on the production floor, which is maintained at approximately 40°F, with freezer areas at zero degrees or colder. The environment requires ear protection due to noise levels, and appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SAUGET, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
