Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team, specializing in testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in a laboratory setting. The successful candidate will receive in-house training from experienced employees and will be responsible for ensuring accurate testing and reporting results.

Responsibilities

+ Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other relevant parties about construction site requirements and testing results.

+ Transport material samples with appropriate documentation to the laboratory for analysis.

+ Prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports to the Project Manager daily.

+ Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

+ Assist with scheduling and dispatching Technicians to project sites as needed.

+ Adhere to strict safety standards throughout all processes.

+ Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

+ Progressively take on increased roles of training and responsibility within work assignments.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in construction and concrete testing.

+ Field work and materials testing expertise.

+ Strong communication skills.

+ Reliability and dependability.

+ Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associates Degree in a related field.

+ Previous experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) or general construction.

+ ACI or other related certifications are beneficial.

+ Bachelor's degree is a plus.

Work Environment

The role involves working on various projects throughout Kentucky, primarily during the day with travel provided by the company. Initially, reporting will be to the Shelbyville office each morning, followed by travel to sites in company vehicles. There is potential for future independent use of company trucks. The work environment focuses on safety and the use of specialized equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
