Job Title: Maintenance Helper
Job Description
The Maintenance Helper is responsible for identifying and cleaning up leaks, spills, debris, and any hazards at plant equipment and pits in a safe manner. The role includes making minor repairs and assisting with maintenance tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
+ Use Lock-out, tag-out, try-out (LOTOTO) procedures as required.
+ Work independently to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
+ Create work orders for discrepancies discovered during duties.
+ Report issues and generate work orders as necessary.
+ Make minor repairs as needed to maintain equipment functionality.
+ Operate a fork-truck, with training provided if necessary.
+ Collaborate and communicate effectively with production and maintenance crews.
+ Inspect for oil, water, air, and grease leaks to prevent safety hazards.
+ Ensure areas are free from oil, grease, or anything that could cause slipping, tripping, or falling.
+ Clean plant pits by inspecting and removing tools, trash, debris, ladders, oil, grease, and anything out of place.
+ Inspect and clean hydraulic tanks, ensuring no water or liquids are used on top of tanks or electrical panels.
+ Cover and protect hydraulic openings and electrical items during cleaning.
+ Remove all cleaning items when finished to ensure safety and cleanliness.
+ Inspect and clean trenches, drains, and sump pumps to ensure proper alignment and functionality.
+ Ensure drains are clear and free-flowing.
+ Inspect and clean floors, walls, stairs, and walkways to maintain a safe environment.
+ Perform general cleaning duties on machines.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to work collaboratively and assist maintenance team.
+ Comfortable performing cleaning duties in various environments.
+ Skillful at wiping down equipment and machines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working in a dirty manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to work near furnaces and ovens heating materials to 2,000 degrees.
Work Environment
The position is based in a dirty manufacturing environment, working near furnaces and ovens heating materials to 2,000 degrees. This is a second shift position within the maintenance team.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $22.75/hr.
