    Job Title: Senior Transportation EngineerJob Description

     

    Utilize fundamental principles in Highway Design, Utility Coordination, Cost Estimating, and Transportation Engineering while employing MicroStation and/or AutoCAD design software. Produce plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates for roadway projects for various agencies, including NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, and local municipalities.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop geometric designs, design exceptions, and roadside designs including guide rail and pavement designs.

    + Manage MPT, signing and striping, ROW, access management, grading, and permitting.

    + Coordinate with utility companies for relocations and perform utility risk analysis.

    + Produce utility schemes of accommodation.

    + Conduct roadway drainage design and 3D roadway modeling.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong design capabilities with MicroStation Inroads experience, including alignments, surfaces, templates, earthwork, and plans and quantity calculations.

    + Experience working on DOT/Transportation projects.

    + Knowledge in drainage, soil erosion, environmental plans, and utilities.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and CIVIL 3D software.

    + Familiarity with NJDOT Capital Project Procedures, NJDOT/NJTA/AASHTO Roadway Design Manual, Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, MUTCD, NEPA Process, Monitoring Budgets, and Primavera Scheduling.

    + EIT or PE certification is a plus.

    + Collaborative personality suitable for a team-oriented office.

    Work Environment

    The office is located in Edison, NJ, consisting of a 10-person civil/transportation group (8 civil engineers, 2 traffic engineers). The work schedule includes three days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two days working from home (Monday and Friday). The team is highly collaborative, working on diversified projects including rail, transportation, airport, bridges, metropolitan work, tunnels, terminals, historic places, and major infrastructure projects. Engineers receive a laptop for work and have the opportunity to pursue paths to become project managers or highly skilled design engineers.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
