Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Clinician plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates Behavioral Health Access Service functions. This is for psychiatric or chemically dependent patients of all ages and their families. They follow legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, and the goals of the organization and Behavioral Health Services Department.
Essential Functions of the Role
+ Helps ER and medical floor physicians by giving initial impressions and assessments of psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
+ Coordinates and facilitates the Mandatory Outpatient Treatment (MOT) for patients from the ER and medical floors needing psychiatric and chemical dependency stabilization and treatment.
+ Coordinates and facilitates Order of Protective Custody (OPC) through the local Mental Health Court. This is for inpatient medical unit patients who need involuntary psychiatric treatment.
+ Helps the Behavioral Health Outpatient Program with assessments and group therapy and other essential duties as required.
+ Answers all incoming calls as part of the information and referral process. Meets with walk-ins in the ER and for the Behavioral Health Outpatient Program as needed. Performs initial call triage.
+ Facilitates assessment appointments. Provides service and program appointments. Tracks and maintains the call database. Tracks and follows up with referrals and information requests, including those from EAPs and Primary Care Physicians.
+ Implements and monitors about client satisfaction and service effectiveness, and participates in quality improvement activities and initiatives.
Key Success Factors
+ Knowledge of psychotherapy and related tests, measures and recovery techniques and practices.
+ Knowledge of counseling and therapy techniques.
+ Ability to interpret diagnostic interviews and test data.
+ Ability to conduct singular and group psychotherapy.
+ Ability to evaluate behavioral deficits.
+ Ability to develop plans for implementing and monitoring rehabilitation activities, skill acquisition and behavior management.
+ Demonstrated communications and problem solving skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
+ EDUCATION - Masters' or Bachelors plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
+ EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
+ CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Lic Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Lic Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Lic Professional Counselor (LPC), Registered Nurse (RN): Must have one of these:
+ LCSW - Lic Clinical Social Worker
+ LMSW - Lic Masters Social Worker
+ LPC - Lic Professional Counselor
+ RN - Registered Nurse.
