A Brief Overview
The Continuous Improvement Specialist (CIS) supports a rapid and continuous improvement culture within the Bank by becoming a process expert, identifying improvement opportunities, working in improvement teams, and supporting business areas to achieve the Bank’s process optimization and performance goals. This role’s primary responsibility is to support the improvement of process performance. This role is a member of the Business Rationalization team and should help drive data driven decision-making and structured analysis.
This includes the development, integration, and preparation of internal, Executive and Senior Management presentations and reports. Must be able to translate business problems into strong analytical framework and present results in a concise yet simple output to guide management decision and sustainable path.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
• Identify and pursue improvement opportunities both individually and as part of a team.
• Develop expertise in multiple Bank processes.
• To be the Bank’s specialist regarding all relevant business processes to support management teams in understanding optimization opportunities.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams and make sure improvement results are tracked.
• Help implement a culture of continuous improvement in the Bank.
• Develop expertise in disruptive technologies focused on process optimization such as RPA, AI and the latest BPM and BI tools and techniques.
• Effectively apply both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies to ensure effective coordination of process improvement initiatives.
• Provide data analysis, process analysis and design expertise to support the Bank’s Portfolio of projects.
• Effectively interact with executive level stakeholders across all departments and regions of the bank to support key decision-making processes.
• Support the CIO and the ITOMO team in the execution of the IT strategic plan.
• Supports the completion of corporate special projects and other initiatives as needed.

• Data Science & Advanced Analytics: proficient technical knowledge in data management tools with keen sense in statistical analysis
• Analytical & Critical Thinking: outstanding problem identification and solving skills with excellent critical thinking capabilities.
• Business acumen: knowledgeable of the banking industry key business drivers, while being able to connect with stakeholders to gain a full understanding of the problems in need of solutions.
• Storytelling insights: communicate actionable insights using data, often for a non-technical audience.
• Interpersonal skills: strong communication skills, both written and verbal - English and Spanish, while operating as a team player and a potential servant leader by effectively applying a growth and agile mindset.
• Inquisitiveness: self-directed and self-motivated with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently manage multiple tasks and priority management.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields of study: Engineering/Technical or Business with technical interest/understanding. Additionally, 1-5 years of recent experience developing and executing process improvement initiatives; experience in the consumer banking industry is considered an added value. Proven knowledge and understanding of regulations and laws that apply to consumer banking products. Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Other qualifications are:
• Working knowledge of various process improvement methods and tools (Lean & Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification a plus)
• Self-motivated and passionate about process improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Spanish and English
• Ability to motivate and develop others.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. (Certification is a Plus)
• Literate in Traditional and Agile Project Management methodologies. (Certification is a plus)
• Literate in process automation technologies such as RPA and AI
