Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in business administration or public administration or equivalent college degree.,

Ten years' experience in management of business operations including development and oversight of budgets of budgets, preferably in a public setting.

Knowledge of business-related software programs in accounting, personnel, budgeting, etc.

Knowledge of physical plant operations, including maintenance and construction.

Ability to work with a team to develop systems and solutions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Terminal Degree in Administration and/or Management

Fifteen years' experience in the management of public agency, institution, or department business operations. including budgeting and construction.

Knowledge of Louisiana's state business operations, computer software in accounting, personnel, budgeting, etc.

Knowledge of the legislative process and workings of state government.

Job Duties and Other Information

The Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) administers all aspects of the financial, physical plant, and construction operations of LSMSA. The DFO is also responsible for information technology, human resources, food service operations, and legislative matters. Financial operations include the development of the annual budget request and day-to-day decisions regarding that budget. Physical plant operations encompass the development of the annual capital outlays request and oversight and management of all construction, repair, and maintenance projects and daily operations. Information technology includes decisions and oversight of the school’s computer resources, both software and hardware as well as communications and connectivity. Human resources involves the policy-making, decisions regarding salaries and benefits, position control, etc. Food service operations range from development of specifications for the food service contract to the day-to-day oversight and inspection of the kitchen and dining hall operation. The DFO directly supervises a staff of seven employees.

The CFO indirectly supervises all purchasing, personnel, maintenance, and other business systems and operations at LSMSA and serves as liaison between LSMSA and various state and federal offices, agencies, institutions, and departments.

The salary range for this 12-month position is $90,000 - $100,000. Starting date to be determined.
