    Job Title: Mechanical Design/Drafting EngineerJob Description

     

    Are you passionate about being part of an engineering team involved in diverse aerospace mechanical hardware projects? This position offers you the chance to work closely with sophisticated electronic test equipment, advancing your career in engineering. You will collaborate with our mechanical engineering team to develop new solutions and support ongoing process improvement initiatives at our Burnsville, MN site. This role requires the application of moderate to complex mechanical engineering principles and techniques, particularly involving pressurized systems and electro-mechanical sensing.

    Responsibilities

    + Design, create, and modify documentation to support production with mechanical analysis and troubleshooting.

    + Contribute to the success of a cross-functional team by developing solutions for production and field-testing issues, including initial design, prototyping, and environment testing.

    + Design test fixtures, cables, and interconnects, accompanied by the necessary documentation.

    + Plan and manage tasks effectively to ensure timely completion.

    + Facilitate documentation and drawings of mechanical designs from ideation through release.

    + Perform fixture and cabling design and documentation, reverse engineering of existing fixturing, prototype build/test/verify, and design verification.

    + Create and release drawings to the production environment.

    + Responsible for the design, development, and documentation of complex assemblies supporting manufacturing test equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong mechanical engineering and design skills.

    + Proficiency in CAD, preferably Solidworks, with experience in design and engineering.

    + Experience in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

    + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

    + Hands-on experience with the test team.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proficiency in Creo is preferred.

    + Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to reverse engineer components from their physical configuration.

    Work Environment

    This role is on-site, supporting the test engineering team. You will work with sophisticated electronic test equipment in a collaborative engineering environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.25 - $48.25/hr.
