Job Title: Service and Pump Technician
Job Description
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing inspections and maintenance on electrical, air, water, and mud systems. This role requires expertise in phase and motor rotation, wire mud and pumps, and proper cable fitting techniques. You will repair various components, perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding, rebuild centrifugal pumps, and conduct maintenance on electrical systems. Your role also includes reading P&IDs and single line diagrams, supporting equipment builds, and maintaining professional communication with company representatives and customers.
Responsibilities
+ Perform inspections and maintenance of electrical, air, water, and mud systems.
+ Conduct phase and motor rotation, wire mud and pumps, and utilize proper cable fitting techniques.
+ Repair components such as mud pumps, air systems, and water systems.
+ Perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding for equipment builds and maintenance.
+ Rebuild centrifugal pumps and align with motors.
+ Conduct maintenance and basic repair on 120Vac and 480Vac systems.
+ Perform basic wiring tasks, including cutting, stripping, and wiring electrical plugs and outlets.
+ Take responsibility for systems testing and pressure testing equipment.
+ Read P&IDs and basic single line diagrams.
+ Support builds of new equipment units.
+ Conduct occasional equipment preparation tasks such as washing, painting, and setup.
+ Maintain professional communication with company representatives and customers.
+ Complete all required safety training and follow safety standards.
+ Use Outlook, Excel, Calendars, OneDrive, and smartphones to document equipment build or repair.
+ Notify management regarding equipment condition as needed.
+ Perform occasional overnight travel to service equipment on customer drilling rig sites.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of general maintenance and/or electrical experience with industrial equipment.
+ Motorman and Derrickman experience preferred.
+ Experience with industrial refrigeration equipment and/or electrical systems preferred.
+ Working knowledge of the Office 365 Suite, computers, and smartphones.
+ Valid Driver’s License and insurable according to company policy.
+ Ability to work overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent experience.
+ Rig (drilling) experience is a plus - Motorman or Derrickman experience.
+ Oilfield service and tools, electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting, welding, cutting tools.
+ Blueprint and wiring diagram knowledge.
+ Heavy labor and heavy lifting capabilities.

Work Environment
Work near active oilfield equipment, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments. Frequent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Travel will be required for up to 2 weeks at a time to service equipment on customer drilling rig sites.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
