Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
As an Assembly Technician, you will play a vital role in constructing metal frames for large switchboards within a production bay. This position involves complete assembly and basic wire harness assembly for each unit, beginning at a workbench with a tape measure and blueprint. With parts staged for assembly, your focus will be solely on assembly and wiring in a repetitive manner, ensuring high-quality production. Once assembly is completed, you will use a simple schematic to assemble a wire harness and mount it on the unit.
Responsibilities
+ Build metal frames of large switchboards following a blueprint.
+ Perform full assembly and basic wire harness assembly on each unit.
+ Use hand tools to construct the custom switchboard per customer requests.
+ Ensure quality control of the assembly process.
+ Assemble wire harnesses using simple schematics and mount them on the unit.
Essential Skills
+ High attention to detail.
+ Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
+ Solid mechanical aptitude.
+ Proven ability to read a tape measure and use a power drill.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
+ Willingness to work at heights of 90 inches using step ladders.
+ Comfortable working in awkward or uncomfortable positions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with small parts assembly and wiring.
+ Ability to read blueprints.
+ GED/HSD not required.
+ Self-motivation and ability to work independently.

Work Environment
Work on the first shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with minimal overtime. Enjoy a bright, quiet work environment where the loudest noise is a power drill. Dress code includes jeans and sweatshirts with closed-toed shoes as the only requirement. This individual-focused job allows for self-motivation without constant supervision after training. The work environment is a major selling point, providing a clean and visually pleasant space. Note: The new building is still in progress and not yet temperature-controlled.

This is a Contract position based out of Brookston, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
