    The role of a Firmware Engineer is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software, including specialized utility programs. This includes both mainframe and client/server applications, and involves major enhancements to existing systems.

    Responsibilities

    + Fine-tune and improve various sophisticated software implementation projects.

    + Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs.

    + Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.

    + Implement system software and customize according to client requirements.

    + Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.

    + Code new programs to client specifications and create test data for testing.

    + Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.

    + Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.

    + Provide quality assurance reviews.

    + Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field.

    + 8-10 years of experience in the field.

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded firmware development for consumer PC or electronics industry.

    + Proven Embedded Firmware architecture skills with a deep understanding of embedded systems and microprocessors.

    + Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for multiprocessor systems.

    + Ability to use hardware debugging tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG, Flash emulators, ICE during firmware development.

    + Strong communication skills to express technical concepts clearly.

    + Experience in in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum 3 years of experience with C Programming language.

    + Minimum 3 years of experience with Git Source control system.

    + Minimum 3 years of experience with bus protocols.

    + Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical concepts across multiple disciplines is a plus.

    + Enthusiastic, motivated, and self-driven.

    + RUST experience is advantageous.

    Work Environment

    The software development team primarily services market devices, including surface devices and extra accessories. The role involves working on the MCU Firmware project, focusing on bug investigation. The typical work rhythm includes 15 meetings throughout the week, 50% debugging, and 35% coding, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
